This tutorial will teach you to jailbreak your iPhone/iPod touch on 3.0 and 3.1.2 on Windows.
- iPhone/iPod Touch with iPhoneOS 3.0
1. Download redsn0w from here.
2. Download your devices firmware: for iPhone 1Gen here, iPhone 3G here, iPhone 3G[S] here, for iPod touch 1G here for 2nd generation here.
3. Open iTunes connect the device and hold down the Shift key and click on the Restore button. Browse the downloaded *.ipsw file and let it restore to thie software.
Note: On iPhone 3G[S] if you have already 3.1.2 you can’t downgrade. Please follow the second part of this tutorial.
3. Exit iTunes and start redsn0w. Browse your downloaded firmware and click Next.
4. Make sure that Cydia is checked and Icy is not checked!! This is IMPORTANT! You can install Icy later.
5. Connect your device and make sure that is turned! Click Next.
6. In this step redsn0w will explain how to put your phone to DFU.
7. Your device will restart.
8. Redsn0w will start to upload the new RAM disk.
9. You will receive a message with text “Done!” click Finish.
Now you have a jailbreaked iPhone/iPod touch.
- iPhone/iPod Touch with iPhoneOS 3.1.2
Note: On iPod touch 3rd generation you will have thetered jailbreak only. This means that on every reboot you will have to re-run the blackra1n procces.
1. Download BlackRa1n from here by clicking the Windows logo.
2. Connect your device and exit iTunes.
3. Start blackra1n.exe and click “make it ra1n”
4. Let the app do its thing and wait for the phone to automatically reboot.
5. Now you will have a blackra1n app on your SpringBoard.
6. Click on that and install whatever you like.
Now you have a jailbreaked iPhone/iPod touch.
